A heavy heart.
Habakkuk 3:17-19
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are not grapes on the vines,
Though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food,
Though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The sovereign Lord is my strength.
My version:
Though My grandfather is in the hospital,
Though my Aunt passed away last night after a long battle with cancer leaving behind my uncle and sweet cousin,
And though the nation of Egypt is in turmoil,
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The sovereign Lord is my strength.
…
So, while I worry and grieve, I find joy in knowing that my Aunt has been set free from pain and from the body that has been weighing her down for so long, and I find joy in knowing that same hopeful future has been made available to all, including my grandfather and my friends in Egypt.

Catching Up…
October:
A dear friend’s wedding
And Montreal with these lovely ladies!
November: Car Accident… yikes. The car rolled 1.25 times after we were hit by someone who blew through a stop sign.
My shoulder and hip hurt a lot, but my only visible injury was this:

ARTISTIC TILE INC.
I spent Sunday through Tuesday of this week in Secaucus, NJ (just across the river from NYC) for training from ARTISTIC TILE INC. on their product selections and production capabilities. They had a GORGEOUS showroom on W 21st Street in Manhattan, and I thought I’d share a few of the pictures.
Palisandro Bluette Fireplace. Stunning.
Their showroom was set up into “pods” to keep it beautiful without being overwhelming
Vetro Marmi Danse Collection. Amazing.
We also got to spend some time in and around NYC.
It was great!!

Things I’ve Made Lately…
I’ve been so fortunate to be very in-touch with my crafty side recently.
In August, I took a Wilton cake decorating class.
we made cookies first…
then we did a cake!
Then we did cupcakes, but I never got pictures of those… For our last project we got to decorate a cake however we wanted to. Since I has been taking all my goodies to work, I decided to make an Artistic Tile cake!
I also made a laptop cover for my new computer. Apparently bags/sleeves are impossible to find for 17” laptops, so I had to make my own. I’m very happy with the finished product AND it was fun to make – I want to make more! … Anyone need a laptop sleeve?? I can make them for any size laptop…
When I came home today, I found myself face-to-face with some furry friends in my backyard…
Another one of those nature-y moments in good ol’ New England!

continuity.
in this post, there is none.
Over the past couple months I’ve taken pictures that I keep meaning to post, but never get around to. So, this one post will contain all of them, and I warn you: they are varied in subject matter and meaning.
yes, that is a dead squirrel on someone’s windshield. sick.
A genuine AR wall cloud. Probably one of the most incredible things I have seen in awhile.
Graduation day with my suite! I was so blessed to have them this year! lovelovelove.
Hot Rize with my loves. Yes, we always eat at exactly the same pace, and no, there is nothing strange about these photos.
I had a wedding planning day with my lovely engaged friend. We did lots of secret wedding things and it was wonderful.
We found a bird’s nest outside. Awesome!
I grew this basil plant from a seed.
I bought my very first pair of TOMS!
best shoes ever.
Aaand, I made an apron. For the cake decorating classes I plan to take in August. I decided to post the b&w picture because my lighting was bad and it made the colors look terrible. I also made a fabric necklace, but I have no pictures of it.
Finalllyyyyyyyy
I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!!!
:-)
(I don’t have a picture for this yet… but soon I hope to be posting a multitude of pictures of all the things I am making for the baby. (i.e. booties and stuffed animals and burp cloths and toys galore.)
Aaahhhh I am so excited!!
