A heavy heart.

Habakkuk 3:17-19
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are not grapes on the vines,
Though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food,
Though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The sovereign Lord is my strength.

My version:
Though My grandfather is in the hospital,
Though my Aunt passed away last night after a long battle with cancer leaving behind my uncle and sweet cousin,
And though the nation of Egypt is in turmoil,
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The sovereign Lord is my strength.

So, while I worry and grieve, I find joy in knowing that my Aunt has been set free from pain and from the body that has been weighing her down for so long, and I find joy in knowing that same hopeful future has been made available to all, including my grandfather and my friends in Egypt.

ARTISTIC TILE INC.

I spent Sunday through Tuesday of this week in Secaucus, NJ (just across the river from NYC) for training from ARTISTIC TILE INC. on their product selections and production capabilities. They had a GORGEOUS showroom on W 21st Street in Manhattan, and I thought I’d share a few of the pictures.

Their showroom was set up into “pods” to keep it beautiful without being overwhelming

Things I’ve Made Lately…

I’ve been so fortunate to be very in-touch with my crafty side recently.

In August, I took a Wilton cake decorating class.DSC_1061

we made cookies first…

then we did a cake!

Then we did cupcakes, but I never got pictures of those…  For our last project we got to decorate a cake however we wanted to. Since I has been taking all my goodies to work, I decided to make an Artistic Tile cake!

I also made a laptop cover for my new computer. Apparently bags/sleeves are impossible to find for 17” laptops, so I had to make my own. I’m very happy with the finished product AND it was fun to make – I want to make more!  … Anyone need a laptop sleeve?? I can make them for any size laptop…

When I came home today, I found myself face-to-face with some furry friends in my backyard…
